Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library at Copley Square.
This collection of maps and images will explore the dramatic changes and developments in the land, the population, transportation, and the economy that occurred in the 1800s.
This free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 1-4pm, and is open to community members of all ages.
The afternoon will open with a ribbon cutting ceremony and include an introductory talk by Curator Ron Grim and Ben Schmidt from Northeastern University.
The event will also feature hands-on, family-oriented activities, including map-making, artwork, puzzles and games, and fun sound and video pieces.
Exhibition tours will be available for families and individuals all afternoon.
We are grateful for our ongoing partnerships with the Boston Map Society and the Boston Public Library.
