Maynard Downtown!!! announces Wellness Day 2007, a free, all-ages event intended to raise awareness of the variety of approaches available for promoting healthy bodies, minds, and lives. Sponsored by participating businesses on Main and Nason Streets in Downtown Maynard - each of which will host workshops, demos and information exchanges by traditional and alternative health care practitioners, or offer health-related giveaways and discounts - Wellness Day will take place on Saturday, October 20th, from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

This year's event will include a new Grand Prize drawing, with a chance to win a Downtown Maynard shopping spree worth over $250. As part of the event, Maynard Downtown!!! will be raising money for the Maynard Community Chest (www.maynardchest.net), an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that strengthens our community by supporting local charitable agencies that provide a broad range of essential human services to people who live or work in Maynard.

Wellness Day is intended to present you with a broad view of health and well-being. Explore different schools of thought with our participating wellness experts, and through a variety of demonstrations, including martial arts, mehndi temporary henna tattoos, DNA screening analysis, life coaching, cleansing and detox, skin care, Awareness Through Movement(R), massage, homeopathy, Emotional Freedom Techniques, nutrition, chiropractic, cycling, Active Stretching, Yoga, STAR Tech(R) Healing and other modalities and approaches.
