Activists and ice cream fans alike are invited to 174 Newbury Street to taste the sweet swirl of justice. There will be music, photo ops, free ice cream, expert speakers, and opportunities to learn how to get involved in the cause.
For this event, Ben & Jerry’s has partnered with Partakers, Community Works, and Black & Pink to help educate attendees about criminal justice reform. These organizations fight for human rights and social justice, and against the damaging effects of mass incarceration. An expert from each organization will speak and provide resources throughout the event.
Justice ReMix’d consists of cinnamon and chocolate ice cream, gobs of cinnamon bun dough, and spicy fudge brownies. Ben & Jerry’s will be handing out free scoops at the event, serving the sweet taste of justice.
Ben & Jerry’s hopes to inspire conversations about racial inequity and the need for criminal justice
reform in America.
As Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben says, “it’s easier to talk about difficult issues over a scoop or two.” A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Justice ReMix’d go to the Advancement Project National Office to support their Free & Safe campaign.
