Welcome the Year of the Rabbit and celebrate the Lunar New Year.Learn about the origins of Chinese traditions such as dances, lanterns, lucky tangerines, and rattle drums through stories, crafts.

We’ll read The Race for the Chinese Zodiac by Gabrielle Wang, illustrated by Sally Rippin and Regine Abos and The Year of the Rabbit: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac by Oliver Chin and illustrated by Justin Roth.
Each child will create a wooden rattle drum and a paper lantern and take home a special symbol of good fortune for the new year.
