Iftar is the daily sunset meal to break the fast during the month of Ramadan, which begins this year at sunset on March 11th and will end on the evening of April 9th.
Please join the 6th Annual Melrose Community Iftar Celebration.
The event will take place from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm at Melrose Memorial Hall, located at 590 Main Street, Melrose, MA 02176.
It will be open to the public, and all are welcome!
RSVP is required.
Program:
5:45 p.m. – Doors Open
6:00 - 6:30 p.m. – Activities for children(face painting, Hanna painting, etc) and
Speaking Program (Ramadan experiences from different cultures and countries)
6.30 p.m. - 6.45 pm - Sufi Whirling Dervish Performance ( Semazen)
6:45 p.m. - 6:50 p.m. – Athan (“call to prayer”) at sunset
6:50 p.m. – Iftar (“breaking the fast”) Dinner
8:00 p.m. - The event concludes Suggested Donation at the door: $20 per adult Presented in partnership with The Peace Islands Institute Boston.
