Celebrate Earth Day with Boston Building Resources on Saturday, April 20, 10AM-2PM.The free, family-friendly event will include the following:
• A plant exchange organized by The Trustees of Reservations.
• Seeds, seedlings, bulbs, and rhizomes can be donated and/or taken for free.
• Food fresh from the grill
• Live music
• Meet with EnergySage and Homeworks to learn more about efficiency in your home.
• Boston Cyclists Union will be on hand to talk transportation
• Fun activities will include tie-dye and starting your own sunflower from seed
Environmental sustainability is a core value at Boston Building Resources.
The Reuse Center at BBR takes in donations of building materials, eliminating the environmental impact of needless waste and making materials available at affordable prices to low- and moderate-income homeowners.
Two years ago, the Reuse Center building was remodeled to a zero-carbon standard, with all the power needed to operate the building generated by a rooftop solar array.
It is Mission Hill’s only zero-carbon building.
The Co-op at BBR carries rain barrels, home compost bins, and products to help people conserve energy and live sustainably.
This event will be held rain or shine.
All are welcome.
Parking is available on-site for both cars and bicycles.
