The City Of Peabody in cooperation with Sun Tae Kwon Do Academy presents “Korean Martial Arts Day” July 19, 2008. 6 to 8pm. Seating begins at 5:15pm.
Honoring the 25th Anniversary of Peabody’s International Festival, this two hour demonstration of the Korean Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do will start at 6pm at Peabody Memorial High School and is free to the public. All ages welcome. Seating begins at 5:15pm.
Highlights of the program include a Tea Ceremony for Mayor Michael Bonfanti and presentation of honorary Black Belt. Performances by seven Tae Kwon Do Masters and a Grand Master demonstrate the many varied aspects of their art including but not limited to power breaking, high breaks, forms and weapons. All Masters range in rank from 4th Dan to 7th Dan (Degree of Black Belt) and have been trained in South Korea. Also performing are Sun’s children’s “2008 TIGER Team” as well as “S.T.O.R.M.” - Sun Tae Kwon Do Academy’s Original Rebel Moms.
This family oriented event is one for the record books, as rarely are so many martial arts professionals seen performing in one place at one time. It’s sure to be an event to be remembered fondly by every family present for years to come.
