Russell offers a play-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on imagination, storytelling and song. Children are encouraged to discover their own special abilities and interests, to learn the pleasures and responsibilities of being a group member, and to build new friendships.

Children help prepare homemade snacks for each day of the week: Moon Rice Day, Stone Soup Day, Applesauce Day, Bread Day, and Porridge Day.
