Here is a superb opportunity for young string players! Since 1986, string students have been coming to Concord, MA, to play in the Spencer Brook Youth Orchestra. This exceptional program offers young musicians the opportunity for serious musical experiences, in an atmosphere of fun and friendship.
The Spencer Brook Youth Orchestra program has junior and senior divisions, for string students from 2nd through 12th grade. Rehearsals are on Saturdays; Junior Orchestra meets from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Senior Orchestra meets 10:30-12:30, both under the direction of our director, Paul Leder. Placement to either orchestra depends on a combination of age, commitment, and playing ability.
Our new season begins Saturday, October 1st.
Rehearsals are held in Concord, MA, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street. There are three concerts each year, in December, February, and May. Recent concerts have featured music of Mozart, Hollberg, Ellington, and every February, our all Vivaldi program.
