The EcoTarium, A Museum of Science & Nature, hosts its Family Fun and Fitness Day on Saturday, August 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This special event offers families and children a chance to get outside, have some fun and be active, while interacting with vendors such as Bounce Youth Fitness and sports teams such as the Worcester Sharks and the Worcester Tornadoes.

Ongoing activities and demonstrations will take place under the large tent in the EcoTarium's lower parking lot. Enjoy a blast from the past with sack races, hula hooping and jump roping, try some tasty samples from Polar Beverages and learn fun forms of movement, like belly dancing and yoga. From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the Worcester Sharks will host a SharkHead Shootout, an interactive, mobile street hockey experience refereed by everyone's favorite mascot, FINZ! All that is needed to participate are sneakers and a positive attitude; the Sharks will provide professional basic instruction, nets, sticks, and street hockey balls.

The building and grounds, as well as the popular Tree Canopy Walkway, will be open throughout the day. In addition to Family Fun and Fitness activities, guests can get moving with the new family friendly-exhibit, Cool Moves, or while enjoying walks along the partially-shaded paths on the museum grounds. Family Fun and Fitness Day is free with museum admission and takes place rain or shine.

About the EcoTarium, A Museum of Science and Nature
The EcoTarium, a unique indoor-outdoor museum of science and nature, offers three floors of interactive exhibits, wildlife habitats, interpretive nature trails through forest and meadow, Massachusetts' only digital planetarium, a tree canopy walkway (seasonal) and a narrow-gauge railroad.
