When the United States men’s national soccer team faces Portugal on Sunday, June 22 in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup, the hottest place to watch the game will be House of Blues Boston (15 Lansdowne St., Boston, Mass. 02215).

The New England Revolution will host a special World Cup Watch Party for the U.S.-Portugal match at the popular venue, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and kickoff for the match set for 6 p.m. The match will be shown on a large screen on the House of Blues stage.

The United States’ Clint Dempsey, Tim Howard, Michael Bradley and Landon Donovan will take on Portugal’s highly-ranked squad that includes reigning international player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo in a star-studded match-up in Group G.

Admission to the event will be free, and the event is expected to reach capacity.

In 2012, a similar watch party at House of Blues for the U.S.-England match drew almost 1,200 people.

Fans planning to come to the watch party are encouraged to arrive early.

The first 200 people through the House of Blues doors will receive a free “For Club and Country” scarf as a gift.
