Spotted and Jefferson’s salamanders often utilize the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center’s vernal pools as prime nursery sites. Science Center staff will watch the weather forecast closely to determine the date when conditions look best. ***If you are interested in joining this evening exploration contact the Science Center with the best method of reaching you on short notice and staff will let you know the exact date.
Warm waterproof clothing, boots, and a flashlight or head lamp are a must.
