The story hour at Porter Square Books is led each week by Doria Hughes, a local professional Storyteller who specializes in sound effects and a unique, dynamic style of telling for children. We welcome children of all ages and their caregivers, however the story hour is generally geared for kids in the 0-5 year age range. Admission is free, and participants are welcome to attend for as long as they are comfortable; we understand that attention spans and nap-needs can be variable in young children!

Doria's goal is to instill a love of books and reading in children who have not yet learned how to read, with the hope that early and positive experiences with being read to will lead to positive learning experiences later on, and ultimately a life-long love of reading and learning. Come join us, and be prepared to quack, moo, oink and laugh!
