Famed storytellers Judith Black and Jackson Gillman will take you down the garden path and back in time with delightful tales interspersed with songs to be sung by all.

This inter-generational event for ages 8 to 98 is sponsored by Vocal Arts Collaborative. At Follen Community Church; tickets available at the door.

Judith Black is a professional storyteller with a national following. Last year she was inducted into the National Storytelling Network's Circle of Excellence 'for exceptional commitment and exemplary contribution to the art of storytelling.' Judith will tell a tale of two caterpillars, Chuck and Cynthia, as they move towards a show down: Butterfly or Moth‹what does their future hold? Judith will also tell tales of history. You sing along with the fish wives of Marblehead shore, and experience the town that would not call out on its own witch. And as our nation reacts to an issue far from new, we will recall the journey of immigrants, and sing the songs of their arrival.

Sparkling with energy, wit and whimsy, ³Stand-Up Chameleon² Jackson Gillman magically transforms himself into a wide array of colorful characters. Through his many talents as songsmith, comic, mime and storyteller, he engages and delights audiences of all ages. For this event, Jackson will be performing ³Riot in the Garden,² which will include both traditional and original songs by Jackson, Sally Rogers, Dillon Bustin, and Nancy Schimmel. Jackson is a twenty year veteran of the New England Touring Artists Program and also served on the theatre advisory panel for the Maine Arts Commission. He has been a keynote presenter at many conferences and festivals, and featured at the National Storytelling Festival.
