The first event in Powers Music School’s 2018-2019 Musical Storytelling Series will be “Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock” on Saturday, November 10, 10:15 a.m., at the Watertown Free Public Library, 123 Main Street.

This performance will feature the narration of the popular children’s book by Eric A.

Kimmel, and original music by Powers’ faculty and staff Yas Ishibashi (piano, vocals), Jessica Cooper (vocals, narration), Michael Carey (saxophone, flute, clarinet), and Nurudafina Abena (African percussion).

Admission to this event is free, but families are advised to arrive early.
