Add to the tradition of your July 4th weekend. Come to the Hingham Historical Society’s old time Base Ball game. There at Derby Academy’s Talbot Field, the Hingham Coopers and the Hingham Derbys will reprise their epic battle of last September when the mighty Derbys drove the brave Coopers to humbling defeat, scoring 10 runs against the Coopers hard-won 5.

After the game, there will be plenty of time to take the short walk from Derby Academy to the beach in time for the Hingham Fireworks at 9:00pm.

The game will be played 1880s-style in reproduction uniforms. The game is free to the public, and refreshments and food will be available for purchase from the Sausage Guy and Nona’s Ice Cream. Fans are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, bug spray and sun glasses.
