The world’s most beloved musical returns to WFT, posing again the infamous question: How do you solve a problem like Maria? Rogers and Hammerstein’s final collaboration, based on Maria Von Trapp’s autobiography, follows the adventures of a high-spirited young woman who is ill-fitted for the life of the convent. Sent to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval officer, who runs his home as if it were an Austrian navy vessel, Maria wins their hearts (and his) with her exuberant love of life. The family’s narrow escape from the Nazis, over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II, is one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented onstage. With gospel singer and Trinity Rep regular Angela Williams (The Princess of Reason in last season’s The Phantom Tollbooth at WFT) as Maria.

Tickets prices are: Section A - $20.00, B - $16.00, C - $12.00 Ticket prices are based on where you sit in the auditorium, and not on age.

Getting There
WFT is a 5 minute walk from the Fenway T-stop on the D Riverside car on the Green line. By car, WFT is easily accessible from Rt. 9, Rt. 2, Storrow Dr, Harvard St and Ruggles St.
Parking
Parking in the Fenway can seem puzzling as we navigate the serpentine roads of the neighborhood. We STRONGLY urge our patrons to park at the Masco garage, 375 Longwood Avenue, which is located between Brookline Avenue (Longwood Medical Area) and The Riverway. The garage offers discounted parking on weekends and evenings and is only a 4 minute walk to the front doors of WFT. During Vacation weeks we suggest parking at the Landmark Center, while not inexpensive, there is plenty of space. Give yourself time to get to the theatre, about 10 minutes. Patrons during school vacation week may also park on the streets in Brookline.
