The career and productions of beloved Natick High School drama director and speech coach, Gerald “Jerry” Dyer will be highlighted in a musical collaboration at Wilson Middle School, 22 Rutledge Road, Natick, MA. Fans and friends will gather in the auditorium for an afternoon of entertainment and celebration.
Dyer, who retired after 34 years in the Natick school system, has launched the careers of many successful media and entertainment industry personalities including Tony Award winning composer/author William “Bill” Finn (’70), Tony nominee Alison Fraser (’73), news anchor Susan Wornick (’67), and Platinum recording artist Joanie Bartels (’71). His students who pursued careers outside the theater world remember him as a man who nurtured their talent and developed their enthusiasm to succeed. Boston attorney Peter Biagetti (’74), Philadelphia attorney Stuart Davidson (‘75) and Paul Adams (’75) a Vice President of Middlesex Savings Bank, are just a few of the names that have come from “Jerry’s” corner of the sky.
In the true “Broadway cares” tradition, Dyer wanted his 70th birthday celebration to be a fundraiser. All proceeds from “Together Again 2010” will benefit the NHS Drama and Speech programs. Please register online at www.togetheragain2010.com to purchase tickets. Tickets $18.
