Wilbur is no ordinary pig, and the Arlington Children’s Theatre production of Charlotte’s Web is no ordinary play. In its fourth year of collaboration with the Arlington Center for the Arts, ACT presents this adaptation of E. B. White’s beloved classic story.
Eight-year-old Fern rescues the runt of her father’s litter of pigs and names him Wilbur. Wilbur is sent to live on her uncle Homer’s farm, but soon discovers that the farmer plans on turning Wilbur into breakfast. What’s a pig to do?!
The animals band together, and it’s the clever Charlotte, the spider, who saves Wilbur with the messages she weaves into her web. The play is a beautiful tale about friendship, suitable for all ages.
Charlotte’s Web features a talented cast of 31 ACTors aged 7–12 from 5 local towns. Performances will be held on Friday, November 4 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 5 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, November 6 at 2 p.m. at the Arlington Center for the Arts located at 41 Foster St., Arlington, MA. Tickets are $8.00, available at the door or online. For more information please visit http://act.arlington.ma.us.
