Rehearsals are now in full swing for Weston Drama Workshop’s 50th Anniversary Season. WDW presents five shows at Regis College from July 19-28: “Les Misérables: School Edition,” “42nd Street,” “The Illusion,” “The Fabulous Fable Factory,” and “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”
LES MISÉRABLES: SCHOOL EDITION

This Tony award-winning epic story recounts the class struggle of 19th century France from the perspective of various characters whose lives are inextricably interwoven. We witness a heroic crusade against patrician adversity as they fight for redemption and revolution.
42ND STREET
July 20, 27 at 8 p.m.
July 22, 28 at 2 p.m.
A big, bold musical set in 1933 that celebrates the stuff that dreams are made of, this is a tale about what happens when diligence, talent, and love coincide. We follow the journey of Peggy Sawyer as she moves from aspiring chorus girl to overnight Broadway sensation.
THE ILLUSION

This play follows a contrite father, Pridamant, seeking news of his prodigal son from the sorcerer Alcandre. The magician conjures three episodes from the young man’s life. Inexplicably, each scene finds the boy in a slightly different world where names change and allegiances shift. Pridamant watches, but only as the strange tale reaches its conclusion does he learn the ultimate truth about his son.
THE FABULOUS FABLE FACTORY
July 20 at 5 p.m.
Some of Aesop’s best-known fables including, “The Ant and the Grasshopper,” “The Lion and the Mouse,” and “The Tortoise and the Hare,” are reenacted as a young girl, Margot, surprises everyone with her moral-making ability. Only one public performance!
YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN

We relive a day in the life of Charlie Brown through a series of short, fun, and comic vignettes. Join the Peanuts gang in this fast-paced and lighthearted yet sincere musical comedy, guaranteed to please audiences of all ages!
WDW 50TH ANNIVERSARY REVUE AND GALA
July 21 at 7:30 pm
Come celebrate 50 golden years of memories as more than 100 alumni of all ages return to the stage in song and dance and relive their past theatrical experiences together at this special, one-night-only event. Directed by Hollis Welch Sullivan.
All performances are held at Regis College Fine Arts Center, 235 Wellesley St., Weston and are produced with support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Tickets: $15 for adults and $12 for children under 12. For “Fabulous Fable Factory,” tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. For the 50th Anniversary Revue, tickets are $30.
