Judith O'Hare is a Reading resident, puppeteer and founder of Creative Arts.
She has performed and taught workshops nationally and internationally.
She is also the education consultant for the Puppeteers of America and co-editor of the book 'Puppetry in Education and Therapy: Unlocking Doors to the Mind and Heart.' In recent years, Judith has archived her participatory work which has been seen in schools, libraries, cultural centers and festivals across New England.
Judith was a regular performer for the Reading Recreation summer performances in the park until she retired her large participatory shows to perform Table Top Toy Theater which has been featured at the International Toy Theater Festival in NYC.
Judith is delighted to bring 'Jessica’s Friends” to Creative Arts.
The show was created to talk about loneliness, the search for a friend, and the discovery that 'you gotta be a friend, to have a friend'.
The production includes children from the audience who play the Three Billy Goats with large flat rod puppets and encounter the Troll played by O'Hare.
They will manipulate dancing marionettes to music and then talk about why they would make good friends for Jessica.
They will also manipulate rod puppets that depict the seven colors of the rainbow.
The puppets come alive to sing, dance and include the audience.
Everyone is invited to join in as puppeteers and singers.
This performance is $5 per person.
