Harper Lee's classic story of a rural Alabama town in the 1930's poses some of life's most difficult questions. It is up to the innocent bystander, Scout, Jem, Dill, and the viewer, to discover the truth.
Wrenching and luminous, Harper Lee’s classic story of a rural Alabama town in the 1930s poses some of the most difficult questions of human existence; it is up to the “innocent” bystander, the viewer and the reader, or our 10 year old protagonist, Scout, to discover the truth.
The precious mockingbirds—Tom Robinson, Boo Radley, and so many others—are at the risk of extinction at the hands of an ignorant and misguided society. We are the jury and we must above all judge ourselves: do we see “one kind of people-folks”?
