This exciting and beautiful new opera is set at the historical Weedpatch school, built and run by determined Oklahoma migrants who show resilience and humor in the face of hardship and hostility from the settled Californians.
Weedpatch is about 2 hours long, including a 20 minute intermission between the two acts.
With music direction by David Bass, stage direction by Kathy Lindsay, and choreography by Rachel Zimmerman, this unique piece is replete with stunning sets, colorful costumes, witty words, dazzling dance, and mellifluous music in sundry styles.
