Calle Allende by Pinned & Sewtured makes its Massachusetts premiere at Puppet Showplace Theater in Brookline, November 4 - 6.

A vivid piece of visual theater informed by Kahlo’s distinctive style of painting, Calle Allende brings to life Kahlo's internal struggles with the prospect of fading inspiration.

The show is an exploration of Frida Kahlo’s psyche inspired by her diary entry and painting “The Two Fridas,” by puppetry company Pinned & Sewtured.

The performance is geared towards adults, and also appropriate for teens ages 14 and up, due to themes of pain, death and miscarriage.

Anatar Marmol-Gagne is originally from Caracas, Venezuela.

She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Puppet Arts from the University of Connecticut, and a BA in English/ Creative Writing from Hunter College.

Her strong background in art, dance, writing, fiber and fabrication all come together seamlessly with her love for puppetry.
