Geppetto, the woodcarver, creates Pinocchio from an enchanted piece of wood. The puppet sets out on a series of adventures after school one day. He meets a talking cricket, the Blue Fairy, and a new friend named Lamp Wick. Together they visit the Land of Toys, where Pinocchio learns an important life lesson.

He then must set out to rescue Gepetto, who was swallowed by a whale. His bravery, loyalty, and honesty finally prove him worthy of being a real boy.
