Gore Place, the 45-acre Governor Gore estate in Waltham, will offer free tours of the grounds during July as part of Historic Waltham Month. The tour entitled: '“What in the World is Manglewurzle!' will take place on Friday, July 2 at 7pm and again on Saturday, July 10 at 11am. Those wishing to take the tour should meet in the 1793 Carriage House at Gore Place.

There, they will join the museum's program director for a walk of the historic grounds, past the 1806 mansion and down to the farm. The focus of the tour will be the agricultural history of the estate and, yes, guests will learn what Manglewurzle is! Tour time is approximately 45 minutes. Free Parking available. The tours will be among several stops on the Waltham Trolley schedule. For more information call: (781) 894-2798 or visit the museums website at: www.goreplace.org. Tours take place rain or shine. No reservations required. Parking is free.

Gore Place was the home of Christopher and Rebecca Gore. Gore was the 7th governor of Massachusetts, a lawyer, investor and farmer with over 400 acres of farmland. Gore Place is located at 52 Gore Street, just off Route 20 (Main Street) near the Waltham/Watertown line.
