Historic Ipswich Walking Tour
Gordon Harris is chairman of the Ipswich Historical Commission and editor of www.historicipswich.org, the commission’s website.
He leads the Walking Tour of Historic Ipswich, a 1.5 hour guided walk with stops at historic sites.
On this 3-mile walk we visit the South Green, the East End, High Street and return on North Main Street through the Meetinghouse Green Historic District.
You’ll hear the stories behind our town’s First and Second Period homes and architecture, life in America’s best-preserved Puritan town, historical events, amusing anecdotes and the unique geography of our town.
It’s a fun way to get outdoors for some light exercise and step back in time to early Ipswich!
