On Sunday, September 17, Gore Place, the historic Governor Gore estate, will offer tours of the 1806 mansion followed by birthday cake (Governor Gore was born on September 17, 1758).

The mansion which features marble floors, a spiral staircase ad an oval drawing room has been described as the 'Monticello of the North'. This special day of tours and cake is part of Historic Waltham Days. Tours are at 12, 1, 2 & 3pm. Admission is just $2.

Gore Place is located at 52 Gore Street, just off Route 20 (Main Street) near the Waltham/Watertown line. By public transportation: Take the Red Line to Central Square.
