Parents of preschoolers are invited to bring their children to the Open House and explore the Early Learning Center which teaches Jewish values based in Jewish traditions and experiences. Attendees also will have the opportunity to meet Directors Lisa Aframe and Sue Rosman, who are dedicated to bringing out the best in every child, providing a quality early learning experience through maintaining small group sizes and good teacher-child ratios, and embracing children and their families to build a strong community.
The Striar Early Learning Center is now accepting applications for the 2007-08 school year. A branch of the Early Learning Centers of the JCCs of Greater Boston, it has a strong reputation for excellence in early childhood education enhanced by a commitment to teacher professional development and exceeding national and state standards.
The Striar program features:
• swimming lessons and free swim for three- and four-year-olds in full day classes
• gross motor activity in the gym under the supervision of a gym instructor
• intergenerational programs with seniors at the Striar JCC
• toddler program beginning at 18 months
• 10- and 12-month programs plus summer and vacation fun
• experienced professional educators
• accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Magen Hagan/Bureau of Jewish Education
The Striar JCC Early Learning Center has been selected by the Jewish Early Childhood Education Initiative (JECEI) to partner in developing national models for excellence in Jewish early childhood education.
