Peabody Essex Museum: Walking Tour
This special outing highlights two centuries of the city's legacy of art and culture. Historian Jim McAllister weaves stories into his walking tour that fous on impressionist painter Frank W. Benson, author of Nathaniel Hawthorne, bandleader Patrick Gilmore and other cultural giants. McAllister's walk also provides an introduction to many of Salem's lesser-known but important authors, artists and musicians, including the Transcendentalist poet Jones Very and Metropolitan Opera star Mary Curtis-Verna.
Held in conjunction with Celebrate Salem: Four Centuries of Architecture and Design.
