Off-Beat Andover Tour - Main Street
This unique walking tour will highlight architecture, history, and fun facts about neighborhoods in Andover in a fast-paced, and highly participatory way.
Interactive games (anyone for a round of The Price is Right?) and humorous challenges will be played as we explore Andover's neighborhoods.
This might not be your grandma's type of walking tour (you know her better than we do), but we'd be happy if she came too!
Participants are encouraged to take photos, bring a sense of humor, and share their experiences via social media.
Off-Beat Andover Tours are a fun way of bringing people together to learn about the sometimes quirky and unexpected history of Andover, get outside and explore, and have a good laugh.
“This isn’t your typical walking tour,” explains Lauren Kosky-Stamm, Director of Programs and Social Media.
“Andover Center for History & Culture’s mission is to share the stories of Andover and its residents and we think it’s important to do that in unexpected and entertaining ways.
Simply put, the goal of this tour is to explore our community and its history in an informal way and have a ton of fun doing it!
After a successful debut of the Off-Beat Historical Mill District tour during the popular Essex County Trails & Sails event, the ACHC will be offering tours down Main Street and parts of the Historic Mill District this summer and fall.
A future Off-Beat tour of Shawsheen Village is in the development stages and plans are to debut the tour during the Shawsheen 100 celebrations in 2020.
