Sudbury Cooperative Preschool will hold an Open House on Thursday, November, 8th from 9:30 to 11:30am. The public is invited for parent guided tours of our school. Literature about the school will be available. The school is located in the Memorial Congregational Church opposite the Goodnow Library. Entrance to the school is through the parking lot in the rear.

Sudbury Cooperative Preschool was started in 1949 by a group of parents who wanted to participate in the children’s early education, combining formal learning with the support of love and family. Today the school is a parent-run teacher- staffed cooperative that offers varied and enriching programs for Children ages 2 through 5.

Based on the philosophy that a child’s first school experience contributes to his or her success well beyond The preschool years, the school represents a unique alternative to other preschools in the area. Through the Parent Helping program, parents actively participate, in the classroom, enabling them to experience their child’s success firsthand.

The school is a learning community where parents and teachers work together to create a stimulating and enjoyable classroom experience. The curriculum focuses on the child’s total developmental needs, including social, emotional and cognitive growth. The program’s emphasis is on free choice and learning through creative play. With gentle adult guidance and a variety of “hands-on” experiences, children gain self-confidence, socialize with peers and celebrate learning with a nurturing, caring environment.
