Chicago industrialist Richard T. Crane, Jr. hired architect David Adler to build his magnificent summer home at Castle Hill in 1928, and also hired noted landscape architects to create a major country estate. Visitors enjoy magnificent ocean views, and will experience how a wealthy family in the early 20th century spent the summer season.
Museum rooms feature panelling and carvings from 17th-19th century English manor houses, fine furnishiings, artwork, and family memorabilia. Elegant Crane Company bathrooms are also featured.
