Vernal pools are crucial for the survival of wood frogs, fairy shrimp, spotted salamanders and many other species. Unfortunately, they are not protected unless formally recognized. We’ll visit a vernal pool at the Cobble and learn what it takes to certify and protect these special places. Bring rubber boots!
