Author and penguin researcher Jean Pennycook lives for two and one half months every year camped near the Adélie Penguin colony at Cape Royds, Antarctica.

She has studied the behavior of the penguins as they come ashore, build nests, lay eggs, and raise their chicks for 15 years.

Covid has restricted travel to Antarctica this season so Jean is working to educate others about what her science team is learning about the penguins, and how changes in their environment are effecting the lives of these remarkable birds.
