Local artist and drawing teacher Mei-Ling Ellerman will be teaching her drawing course for children through ArtsWayland.
She has adapted her adult course for children, because she believes that if children this age are interested in drawing, they will really benefit from professional instruction.
This course will help build their knowledge, techniques, skills, and confidence.
She keeps her classes small so each student can receive the individualized feedback that will help improve both their ability to observe and draw more accurately.
These skills of observation and drawing will help them in many other disciplines and areas of art and life.
Students will draw subjects ranging from animals, to fruit, and still life, using graphite pencils, colored pencils, and conte crayons.
They will learn about contour drawing, negative space, proportions, perspective, and shading techniques.
