WGBH 99.5 All Classical presents the All Classical New England Cartoon Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, and we need your help to ensure kids of all ages enjoy this event!
Please review all the Cartoon Festival volunteer position descriptions listed below and email jaime_reese@wgbh.org if you'd like to help. Please make sure to include the following information in your email response:
- Your full name
- Preferred position (e.g. goody bag stuffer, costume character, floater, face painter, etc. ** If you’d like to be a costume character, please note your character preference based on the size requirement provided below)
- Preferred shift (Thursday, October 25th from 6-9pm or Saturday, October 27th from 9am-1:30pm or 1-5pm)
Date: Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 6-9pm.
Goody Bag Stuffer
Description: Help stuff good bags that will be distributed to event guests on Saturday. Dinner will be provided.
Date: Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012; two shifts: 9am-1:30pm or 1-5pm
Costume Character (6 per shift)
Description: Wear a costume (see below) and interact with guests.
• (Clifford) (5’4”-5’9”, average build)
• (Arthur) (5’4”-5’9”, average build)
• (Leona) (5’2”-5’4”, average build)
• (Cat in the Hat) (5’2”-5’4”, slim build)
• (Ruff Ruffman) (5’7”-6’, average build)
• (Curious George) (5’1”-5’3”, average build)
Costume Handler (6 per shift)
Description: Assist costume character move about the crowds at Symphony Hall.
Face Painters (6 per shift)
Description: Design simple color images on kids’ faces. **Sample drawings will be provided as examples.
Floater (15 per shift)
Description: Provide guests with directions to activities, bathrooms, etc., and fill in for other positions as needed. Floaters must be friendly, outgoing and eager to provide assistance to guests.
Volunteer Photographer (1 per shift)
Description: Take pictures of Cartoon Festival activities and guests. **Photographers, please send samples of your work.
Volunteer Photographer Assistant (1 per shift)
Description: Walk with photographers during the event, record names of people in pictures and ask guests in photos to fill out appearance release forms as needed.
