Change the life of a child experiencing Homelessness
Tutors are needed for SOWMA’s afterschool programs in four Brockton elementary schools beginning in January 2013.
Tutoring times are Tuesday and Thursday, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm.
Each SOWMA afterschool tutor helps an elementary school student overcome obstacles to learning and achieve his or her full educational potential.
Tutors receive training in effective tutoring strategies and ongoing support from SOWMA’s professional staff.
No prior experience is needed.
A three month commitment is requested.
Every SOWMA volunteer tutor is required to attend at least one orientation training session before working with a SOWMA student.
Trainings for the new term will be held at the SOWMA office, 790 West Chestnut St., Brockton, on the following dates and times:
Saturday, December 8, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Saturday, January 12, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
