- Preferred position (e.g. costume character, floater, face painter, etc. ** If you’d like to be a costume character, please note your character preference based on the size requirement provided below)
- Preferred shift (Saturday, November 9th from 9am-1:30pm or 1-5pm)
Date: Saturday, Nov.
9, 2013; two shifts: 9am-1:30pm or 1-5pm
Costume Character (6 per shift)
Description: Wear a costume (see below) and interact with guests.
• (Arthur) (5’4”-5’9”, average build)
• (WordGirl) (5’4”-5’6”, petite build)
Costume Handler (6 per shift)
Description: Assist costume character move about the crowds at Symphony Hall.
Face Painters (6 per shift)
Description: Design simple color images on kids’ faces.
**Sample drawings will be provided as examples.
Floater (15 per shift)
Description: Provide guests with directions to activities, bathrooms, etc., and fill in for other positions as needed.
Floaters must be friendly, outgoing and eager to provide assistance to guests.
Temporary Tattoo Artist
Description: Help children apply temporary tattoos
Musical Petting Zoo Volunteers Description: Help children learn how to play string instruments (violin, viola and cello)
Kids Activity Area
Description: Assist kids with coloring projects, computer based games and other engaging interactive activities.
Volunteer Photographer (1 per shift)
Description: Take pictures of Cartoon Festival activities and guests.
**Photographers, please send samples of your work.
Volunteer Photographer Assistant (1 per shift)
Description: Walk with photographers during the event, record names of people in pictures and ask guests in photos to fill out appearance release forms as needed.
This is going to be a great event but volunteers are key to its success!

By Subway: Take the Heath Street/Brigham Circle 'E' Green Line train to the Symphony stop, any other Green Line train to the Hynes Convention Center stop, or the Orange Line to the Massachusetts Ave stop.
By Bus: Take the Massachusetts Ave. bus from Harvard Square in Cambridge directly to Symphony Hall.
Driving:
From the north: Take Route 93 South to Storrow Drive to the Fenway exit.
From the south: Take Route 93 (the Southeast Expressway) to the Massachusetts Ave. exit.
From the west: Take Storrow Drive to the Fenway exit or, from the Mass Pike Extension, take the Prudential Center/Copley Square exit.
