They are inviting interested families to come play in two of the museum's hands-on, interactive exhibits for free, with the aim of better understanding how caregivers and preschool-aged children interact and engage with the museum's exhibits.
The first research study date has been scheduled for Friday, January 18 at 2pm.
Participating families are invited to visit the museum free of charge, and will be asked to complete questionnaires as well as play together in two of the exhibits.
Interactions in these exhibits will be recorded by research organizers from UNH's Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
The study visit is expected to last about 1.5 hours and families are welcome to stay to play anywhere in the museum after the study. In appreciation for the time volunteer families will give to the research study, participating families will be given a $20 gift card at the completion of the visit.
The research study is looking for participants matching the following details: Children age 3 to 6 and their parent or legal guardian; Native speakers of English; and children without speech/language or developmental disorders.
Interested families are encouraged to contact UNH directly at Project.ACME@unh.edu or at 603-862-2159, and confirm their participation for a specific date and time. More research dates and times will be announced soon.
