Join Plimoth Plantation’s staff for an exciting on-the-water adventure on August 4th! Bring your rowboat, canoe or kayak and travel on Plymouth Bay, accompanied by Native mishoons (dugout canoes) and Mayflower II’s ship’s boat.
Paddlers can choose to depart at noon with the mishoons from the banks of the Eel River at Plimoth Plantation’s Wampanoag Homesite or from Stephens Field with the ship’s boat in Plymouth Harbor.
The groups will rendezvous on the water and make their way to Plymouth Long Beach for an informal talk on the area’s 17th-century maritime past and a snack.
After paddling back to Stephens Field, enjoy a delicious, traditional Wampanoag clambake and social event at 5:30 p.m. on Plimoth Plantation’s Accomack deck. At $50 per person, this event will take place rain or shine. Reservations close on July 31st. Tickets can be purchased online at http://paddleatpatuxet.eventbrite.com or by calling (508) 746-1622 ext. (8358).
