Wild Cat Day at Stone Zoo
On Saturday, November 3, guests are invited to learn more about these felines and hear from specialists Ken Miller of The Cougar Network and Jennifer Snell-Rullman of The Snow Leopard Trust!
Don’t miss your chance to see the adorable snow leopard cubs in action on exhibit!
There will also be big cat-themed crafts and activities offered throughout the day.
Zoo New England is committed to the conservation of snow leopards and participates in the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan (SSP) – a cooperative, inter-zoo program coordinated nationally through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
SSPs are designed to maintain genetically diverse and demographically stable captive populations of species.
Zoo New England also supports the Snow Leopard Trust’s National Partnerships Program, which protects snow leopards through community-focused conservation projects that are based on an improved scientific understanding of snow leopard behavior, needs, habitats and threats.
Zoo New England is an active participant in the cougar SSP and has supported The Cougar Network through its Quarters for Conservation program.
