Not only does the animal lover in your life get a sweet plush animal gift, but the cost of the “adoption” directly benefits the zoo by helping to feed and care for animals, create educational programs, and support conservation efforts.
Did you know that lions Dinari and Kamaia eat a total of 18 pounds of meat per day, and Luther the tiger eats 11 pounds of meat per day? Feeding these big cats costs approximately $30,000 for just one year!
Zoos spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on hay, grain, produce and other special diets to feed our animals. Through your generosity, Zoodoption helps us defray some of these costs and provide excellent food, care and enrichment for all of our animals.
Some of the adorable “adoptable” animals include red pandas, giraffes and, in honor of Stone Zoo’s new snow leopard cubs, limited edition snow leopard parent and baby pairs.
