Celebrate National Engineers Week at the Museum of Science with a one-day special event designed to get kids excited about engineering. Cast members from the hit PBS show ZOOM and real engineers will be on hand to work with visitors on four cool engineering activities.

Guests will have fun with flying as they design a simple craft out of straws and paper. Budding architects can design sturdy structures out of spaghetti and marshmallows and build a tower out of paper cups. Young scientists can also construct an object that neither floats or sinks (it flinks!) out of paperclips and Styrofoam peanuts.

Each activity will include a testing zone where kids can try out their projects. They will also have the opportunity to make adjustments and test new designs. The event will be highlighted by two lively and entertaining stage shows featuring ZOOM cast members at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

ZOOM Into Engineering takes place in the Blue Wing of the Museum of Science. All activities are included with Exhibit Halls admission. For more information, call Monica Parker-James at (617) 589-0316. To learn more about ZOOM, log on to the WGBH web site at www.wgbh.org.
