What They Do
Since 1988, Horizons has improved the lives of young homeless children in Massachusetts and helped their families to succeed. Each year, they serve over 5,000 children through our comprehensive early education centers and our shelter-based Playspace Program.
Horizons has been recognized as a national leader in the education of homeless children. Today, they provide high-quality early education, opportunities for play, and family engagement services in Massachusetts.

How You Can Help
Volunteer at an Event
Horizons for Homeless Children is always looking for help with administrative work, mailings, and special events. If you are interested in short-term volunteer opportunities and in receiving our e-mail requests as opportunities arise.

Become a Playspace Activity Leader (PAL) - By volunteering just two hours per week, you can make a difference in the life of a homeless child. Become a (PAL) and join over 1,500 volunteers who play with homeless children in family shelters.
Founded in 1990, our Playspace Program is based on the belief that play is essential for child development. Our Playspace Program ensures that each child living in a homeless shelter in Massachusetts has the opportunity for developmentally appropriate play.
